My statement does show I hit 5k before 8/13 ( 4 months from account application ). I emailed them and their response was the promotion was coded from 4/2/13 to 8/2/13. My statement date is also the 2'nd of the month. So I guess these promotions are coded from statement date of the month you apply. Can anyone else confirm this?

This is the first time I have ever missed a bonus in my 100+ card churning bonanza. But I always try and complete the spend quickly to avoid these kind of potential problems...
