Need advice regarding Citi AA cards
I applied for this offer on 1/1/2013
50K miles after $2500 spend in 4 mo personal
Personal VISA
Up to $100 credit, two admirals club passes, 50k miles (40k for $2k within 4 months of opening + 10k after $5k within 12 months of opening), 2 miles/$ on AA:
AMEX
I have not received my Admirals club passes yet. How do I get these ?
14. How long does it take for the Admiral passes to arrive?
For the better part, it takes about 3 months. This is not a set number, and some have received theirs sooner. It's been deduced that the passes are handled by a 3rd party that mails them in batches. Please don’t call Citi for the passes, because you’ll mostly find a CSR who doesn't know better and will give you wrong information.
I`m going to buy a 100$ gift card from AA.com to trigger this 100$ statement. Is there a better way to do it ?
15. How do I get the statement credit?
First, you have to make sure if the offer you signed up for gave you A $150 credit or UP TO A $150 statement credit. For the 1st, any AA coded purchase ($50 AA GC seems to be the simplest option here) will/should trigger it. For the 2nd, you’ll have to spend $150 to get the $150 credit. The credit will be issued on statement with the qualifying transaction.
For more information on what will work and what won’t, please see here (thanks sdsearch) and here (thanks dogbyte)
Lastly, I want to close OR convert these cards into no AF cards, what are my options ? I prefer converting the cards because these are my only cards with Citibank and I do not have a great AAoA (1.3 yrs).
