Totally agree that it is great to have a lounging area outside, but maybe it is not an oversight, but rather left out to keep the architectural style of Vietnam. A bale is part of the balinese culture, and thus they have them in most Bali Amans (not Amandari and Amanwana though), same goes for the salas in Thailand that you find in Amanpuri and same for the "minzah" (gazebo) at Amanjena.
But of course there is an outside lounging areas (daybeds) also at Amanruya and the (not so comfortable, but still) two narrow "sofas" (and large covered daybeds at the villas) at Amanpulo which I am not sure have anything to do with culture.
I only used 'bale' as a point of reference. I was referring to any relaxation area with a large daybed or couch. Amanzoi is just missing this.
