I have not had any strict capacity controls overruled for me. We choose our dates around when my PL agent said that the suite upgrade was available. In fact, we are going to Kauai because for 3 nights because we couldn't get a suite at the HR Waikiki immediately preceding our stay at the Andaz Maui.

Without opening the can of worms of different categories of Diamonds, my stays are almost all Park Hyatts at around the $300-$400 per night mark and Hyatt knows what you spend.
