Two useful insights from using an Obi and GV:
- A landline phone company would charged you $90 to $120 per month for all the features GV gives you at no cost. And then there are the features phone companies, landline or wireless, do not provide, forwarding to five other numbers, voice to text, email notifications, saving VMs forever.
- A new user tip: There are two features you do not get using GV + Obi, 1) Caller ID Name, ... you do get the 215-555-1212 Caller ID, but not the "JOHN SMITH" caller name part, and 2) 911/e911. Look on the Obitalk forum, someone worked out how to get both these features for a total cost of $1.50 per month. It's a stroke of genius how they do this, and that $1.50 per month is well worth it, especially considering the rest of your phone service is at no cost except for the internet bandwidth used.
