I returned the Ooma to Costco and ordered an Obi202 from Newegg for 59.99. Let's see how it works!

The alarm is not that big a deal. I can have them put on the GSM module, worst case.

Outbound fax is what we are most interested in doing, though even that is only occasionally.

No, I am just looking forward to the unit arriving!
