I can tell you I will ALWAYS avoid the 777HD no question. If AC do a switch then so will I. I believe that they would be obligated to allow me to change at no penalty, since they are now not offering me the service that I originally agreed to. In other words I can't be forced into a tiny seat if it's not what I agreed to in the first place.

If they don't want this problem in the future then they shouldn't provide info on the aircraft cabins, including seat widths and pitch, then I wouldn't be picking a specific service from the information that they themselves provide.

Then if they don't provide the information to allow me to pick the type of a/c and seat I get then I'll just fly with an airline that does..........

AC has decided to start bringing in a HD configuration, that's their prerogative - that doesn't mean we have to just bend over and take it like a Christmas turkey.
Actually, according to the Tariff that you bought the ticket under, that is EXACTLY what you have to do. Nowhere do they guarantee of the type of plane that will operate a given flight.

Want to see it in action? Search this forum for people who booked specific North American J flights to get the pod and see how AC responded when a narrow-body was subbed in.
