I have the UA Mileageplus Explorer Card and Chase Sapphire Preferred. I want to book an uncoming united flight through travelocity via Ultimate rewards since I earn 2 points per dollar there.

I want to confirm two things.

1) If I book a united flight through travelocity and Ultimate rewards will I still get the free checked bag? Or do you have to book through united directly?
2) Do I still get the extra united mile per dollar spent for booking a united flight or does this only work if you book directly from united?
