KLM is taking advantage of my medical emergency?

Hi,

I was supposed to fly KLM bkk/prg last Saturday but had a heart problem and collapsed at mdinight before flying. I was taken to hospital as an emergency and spent Saturday there under observation and was in no state to contact the airline to say I would not fly. (I could prove this easily if required).

On Sunday I was cleared to travel and took a different airline to Europe, but I still want to use, next week, the return leg of the KLM flight I missed.

KLM refuses to allow this saying I did not inform them before I flew (which of course I could not do). So now I would have to buy yet another ticket back to BKK.

So now presumably KLM can profit from the situation and sell the seat again. Whilst the KLM operator acknowledged the policy was unfair in my case, they still would not do anything. Also they would not give me any alternative contact within KLM to plead this case.

Any suggestions on how I can get this resolved?
