I've noticed the Air France seat select system not working for a while, recently (no seat plan appearing). You can stick with the KLM site or wait until the IT guys fix the issue with the AF website.

AFAIK, seats selected on the KLM website do actually get remembered by AF ... unlike (according to many reports here) seats selected on the Delta website for AF/KLM flights.
