I too have encountered the "Claimed previously through British Airways" bug, it seems to happen on more complex itineraries, those involving paid or Avios upgrades, etc. Just send an email via the facility on the website and explain the situation as you have done here and you will get the points and the status. It may take a week though. But, shouldn't be a problem because...

BOH, you say your membership "expired" on 8 September. Do you mean your membership year ended then, and your card remains valid for a few weeks beyond that date, or that your membership year ended sometime in August, and your Silver status expired on 8 September?
