I have a question for forum members. I flew with emirates recently and had to cancel my return flight. At their office in Kuala Lumpur the agent gave me a refund calculation and asked me to submit the refund request online as they wouldnt accept cancellations at the local office.

A few days later I got back a refund conformation that was 1/10th of the calculation I was given. The airline is claiming that the fuel surcharge is not refundable but the agent told me it is. What constitutes fuel surcharge and how do I challenge emirates on their contradictory advise? The UK customer affairs office has not been very helpful and I am rather disappointed with this airline.
