For a £200 (x2 =£400 I presume) saving, deffo go with Virgin.

Safety should not be a worry, whilst Virgin allows prebooking of seats that should allow you to book 2 on the side of the aircraft, with no 3rd person next to you, which gives the Virgin aircraft the advantage in my eyes
