Wasn't sure if that would be your only bag, but I had a Tumi tri that was pretty durable, even when checked.

If you have another small carry on but want something that can hold a suit and other basics consider a Red Oxx, which is available in black like Tumi. It's not a trifold, but not that thick, even so you may get some unwanted challenges about it as a 2nd carry on. But I have not had issues when my other bag is a backpack.
