Its been a couple of years since I used a suite upgrade at this property, precisely b/c the standard accommodations given with the suite upgrade is, in fact, two adjoining rooms. They must have had complaints b/c a couple of days before my stay, I rec'd the following email:

Aloha bdemaria,

We are looking forward to having you with us on your upcoming visit.

Before you arrive, I want to let you know about the accommodations you will receive when using your Diamond Suite Upgrade Award. Here at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, this award is valid for an upgrade to our Jr. Ocean Front Suites.

These suites consist of two standard connecting rooms in our Deluxe Ocean Front category, which face directly toward the Pacific Ocean. One room has either one king or two double beds, and is used as the “bedroom” portion of the suite. The connecting room has a Murphy bed, which can be folded into the wall - thus converting the room into a parlor.

While this set up provides for a lot of extra space and is ideal for families or for holding small meetings, it is not – extra space and view aside – an upgraded room in terms of amenities or appointments, and I wanted to make sure that you were aware of this before you got here.

As a Diamond Gold Passport Member, you will still receive the finest service we can provide, and you will have guaranteed access to the Regency Club Lounge.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Mahalo!
