My girlfriend and I got a new job working together where we will be flying with 6 (edited from 3-5 to 6 since I found out our luggage) pieces of checked luggage total. We will be paying luggage fees (reimbursed by our company), but if it works out that a last minute upgrade to first class includes some free checked luggage and it is cheaper than the luggage fees, we can fly first class. We would love it if this happens, and we have some choice in which airline we can book through. Does anybody know which airlines will have the highest luggage-fee to first-class-which-includes-free-luggage upgrade ratio? [Edited to be more clear I hope]
