Okay....I'm going to take the "flame free" part of the thread title at its word....

I somehow managed to accumulate a *massive* 4 stays at Hyatts this year. Leaving me one stay away from Platinum.

I have a week at the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo starting next week. (booked the king, club floor).
Is there any reason for me to blow $100 to establish Platinum status with Hyatt before my stay in Sao Paulo? (I did read enough to know that I would have to call Hyatt or the property to update my status with them before my stay)
