I applied for a TRV (Visitor) online about 2 weeks ago and received a positive decision in just 4 hours. Took another 10 days to send the passport by DHL and receive it back, but the whole process was relatively quick and painless.

I have one more scenario if someone has an answer to it. My husband is currently in Canada and his visa is expiring in end of Sep this year. His work permit extension is in progress with CIC and he is expecting to get it back in mid Oct. He wants to travel to India in Nov. He is thinking of applying TRV from within Canada as soon as he gets his extended work permit.
Will it be ok for him to apply for TRV online while he is in Canada mentioning his country of Residence as Canada and when his application is approved then he submit his passport in Canada or India wherever he will be at that time.
Or it is like if you have entered your country of residence as Canada while applying online TRV then you have to submit your passport in Canada itself for visa stamping?
