I keep hearing this expression (Pineapple seats) with regard to Business Class and I have no idea what everyone is talking about. We are trying to book Executive First for a flight to Maui next April on AC, and definitely want lie flat seats.

Your Flight won't be on rouge.. Right now AC is operating AC 057 with the lay flat executive suite, and it still show's operating in April.. So looks like you won't have to worry about a pineapple plane right now, unless something changes.
2 of the Amigos have been converted to Rouge and 1 has been retired I believe. So until Rouge starts serving YVR, then you don't have to worry. However, AC does not advertise Executive First service to Hawaii, so if you book a pod next April, or any point in the future, and just get domestic J you are not entitled to any compensation.
