Indeed, and you get your TPs and Avios calculated correctly, so long as you pass through a conventional gate check. So for example there are flights from MIA to LAX that then stop there 2 hours (and change crew) and then continue on to HNL on the same flight number. You must leave the aircraft at LAX, and you then reboard as if starting a new sector. You would get 2 lots of TPs and the same Avios points as if it were 2 different flight numbers.
