Mate I have put miles down on these airlines in J class and do not know this policy that you speak of. A few years ago I got on a high horse about moving revenues from Cathay and made a point of flying to secondary European destinations on Qatar and Emirates ex-HKG. I had my secretary basically make a matrix of every which way I could fly to Europe that completely eliminated Cathay and OW from the picture, and still hit all of our European clients. We also had meetings in the Middle East. She did a bit of work and did not figure this free hotel room thing out. She's very competent. You have me thinking either we were badly missing out on those airlines comping my Doha/Dubai hotel rooms for my meetings or you're possibly just mistaken.
