Given that CAT and TrueMove H are already "in bed together" for TrueMove H service (850 MHz 3G), any affects on current TrueMove customers may be largely unnoticed. DTAC/HAppy/Tri-NET have positioned themselves to scoop up TrueMove customers - their 1800 MHz concession runs until 2018 - with a significant build-out in the northeast.
A little update on this:
On 3/9 I received an SMS from True telling that my number is now ready for True H. I just should turn off and turn on the phone which I did.
The only differnce I could notice was that the display now says True H instead of just True.
So Yesterday I went to their "office" Big C Lamphun and ask what is the difference. Answer: "You need a new SIM." But the old works OK.. !
To make a long story short. She took a photocopy of my passport, was confused because I have a middle name, I needed to "translate" my D.O.B. into B.E. and the last question was "where is this passport from?"
Than I got a new SIM and was told to wait until I receive the message "no signal" and change then.
The package of the new SIM says: truemove H a CAT reseller
This was already the 2nd new SIM card I got yesterday. Before going to true, I went to dtac because I had a question about my internet plan and complained about the slow speed. Asking if Trinet would improve the service they asked me where I live. Two staff memebers checked the coverage in the computer. The looks I got afterwards were like your-poor-little-thing-living-in-the-middle-of-nowhere-and-expect-to have-such-thing-like-internet. And the next info was: But you need a new SIM! (For what ??) Anyway. I got a new one and my net is as slow as it was before.
