Just ordered one, on impulse. I'm unsold on the whole EVIL concept, but even if it turns out to be a chunky P&S with a fixed-focus, large-aperture lens at $399 it's a risk I'm willing to take (I've yet to order the lens converter, and the 15-85 I might use with that is big enough I might as well just bring the T3i, and I am unsold on the 18-55 EF-M, especially ordered separately from the kit.)
For me, the price (within reason) isn't too much of an issue if the device is right. While the EOS M at that price is a great camera, if it's not going to fill my need then any price is too high. Definitely interested to see what Canon follows it up with, though.
