In my opinion, the aisle is fair game. For one thing, many amenity kits give out socks not slippers. For another, you just walked in socks or bare feet through the security checkpoint where people went through barefoot and in socks. If you want to have no potential indirect contact with other people's feet surfaces, that ship has sailed. But propping bare or smelly-socked feet up at nasal altitude is another thing.
