I think that is really a good question that most of us should give some thought. From BOM, EK offers some of the best options for travel to the US hubs JFK, LAX, and SFO which are the places that I need to visit most often. 9W has been slipping continuously and I've pretty much stopped flying them altogether now. LH and BA are options but they are typically either more expensive or similarly priced as EK, and I pretty much try and avoid BA as much as possible. I haven't flown LH much and don't have anything against them but the EK ICE, op-ups, and A380 to JFK (and now LAX) pretty much seals the deal for me.
