Most assume that the NBTC will auction this (and other) 1800 MHz spectrum in the near future for LTE.

I'm not certain anyone knows what may happen on 16 Sep. given that TrueMove have 17 million customers and no one appears to be addressing this looming problem. My best guess is that CAT will "take over" the network from TrueMove on 16 Sep., and a court battle will ensue lasting a few years. Given that CAT and TrueMove H are already "in bed together" for TrueMove H service (850 MHz 3G), any affects on current TrueMove customers may be largely unnoticed. DTAC/HAppy/Tri-NET have positioned themselves to scoop up TrueMove customers - their 1800 MHz concession runs until 2018 - with a significant build-out in the northeast.

I might plan on getting a back-up SIM, sooner rather than later, just as a hedge.
Just received an SMS (in Thai language) from TRUE to turn off, turn on my mobile to switch to TRUE-H.

Did so and the display now says "TRUE-H". Checked if my 1.07 bt/min. plan to Europe still works and it does. ^

I use this SIM only for voice, no data. Am I now at the 850 MHz frequency with this card?

I am asking as I have a new Quadband phone so 850 is not a problem, but I also have some "back-ups". Batteries are not my friends and sometimes I have to use old "classics" and they master only 900/1800 MHz.
