So I checked in this afternoon for my $89 rate reserved a in "cozy room." The FD clerk was very pleasant, and told me I had been upgraded to a corner deluxe room. I selected the 500 points arrival gift, then he offered me either a coupon for breakfast in the restaurant or 750 additional points. I took the later as I'm leaving before the restaurant opens.

The room is quite nice and well-appointed. The bath is a bit on the small side, and my only complaint is there isn't a shelf big enough for a standard toiletry kit. But that's true in a lot of hotels around the world!
