This bit is interesting. It is actually just less than two weeks until the ex-LHR sectors, so I should be eligible under EU261.

I've quickly scanned the Compensation Thread, and since my re-routing is actually quite favourable (ex-LHR two hours later, arriving MSY one hour later) I wouldn't qualify. From the thread:

b) You are given between two weeks and 7 days’ notice of the cancellation and you are offered rerouting which leaves more than 2 hours earlier than originally scheduled or arrives at your final destination more than 4 hours later than originally scheduled.
