I once shared a plane with Wimbledon FC after a friendly in Aberdeen. I attempted small talk with manager Joe Kinnear as we waited for our bags but he was very guarded to the point of hostility, perhaps thinking I was fishing for salacious details of their night out to feed to the tabloids.
