A slight variation from my post above in which a junior CS person responds "at the personal request of the CEO". Makes the customer feel good and costs the carrier nothing more than having the junior kid respond.
Same thing with the "executive" who responds from a Blackberry.
My niece and nephew get nice letters from one of Santa's elves every year when they write it.
