Avis appears to be offering the "change to a different car" aisle now too, in CO, we changed from a Chrysler 300 to a Mini Countryman (in retrospect, perhaps a bad choice, but it seemed fun at the time)

So, it sounds like its a wash between the two. I'll check out the rates and give Hertz a shot when its cheaper.
