The answer probably depends on what time of day you are arriving, and whether there are other international flights arriving at the same terminal just before your flight.

I'm looking at the flights which will get me there between 4 - 7pm.

I also flew with Delta from LON to JFK a few times. They previously used T2 (I think) for arrival, and passing through immigration and luggage was fairly quick because only a few international flights arrived there. But the last time I flew with them they changed to T4 for arrival, and the queue was just massive because I think the majority of the international arrivals were at T4.

Now I wonder if I should try another terminal where there are less number of international arrivals...
