Wow, I'm impressed...one of you must me in the running for Mr. or Mrs. Universe. I've had bags in between the 23-32 kg mark and found them a pain going up and down stairs and I'm pretty fit.

I highly recommend just splitting into two bags. You should each get a 23 kg luggage allowance. The fee for going over that gets pretty high pretty quickly.
