Hilton and Starwood have some really bad lounges in the US. Marriott's lounges are better but not by much. Hyatt's lounges in the US are much better.
Most international lounges with all brands beat US lounges.

If you prefer Homewood Suites over Hiltons, that's great. Not everyone shares your preferences; that's the great thing about this world. We all have different priorities.

I like lounges on most of my stays unless there are rug rats on the loose. I've found that places like Homewood Suites, Residence Inn, etc, usually have a bunch of rug rats on the loose in the breakfast area.
