OP - when the option to get medical/cancellation insurance popped up on every one of your flights - why did you decline?

I am fascinated by folks who think companies should waive fees that could've been covered by insurance.

If I were the OP, though, I'd look for schedule changes, and if all else fails, SDC or VDB to delayed flights for some chance of refund.
