Yes, that is true. But I have the option to check the seats availability before booking and make an educated decision whether i want to buy at this price for this kind of seat, or look for another flight.
How can we project it on the BA case at hand? If BA goal is to save seats for its frequent flyers, who presumably value the seat availability for last minute booking, - then they should not allow me to reserve at all (not for free and not for $200).
