I call BS on that as I've had agents who say "it's an excuse" from other agents. I've had VERY complicated misconnect rebooks post Shares handled by both CO and UA agents who worked it flawlessly. I've had crappy ones to; I take their first attempt rebook; say thanks and call back. the call back is always "I got rebooked but now realize this isn't going to work" - NEVER had an issue after that. It's purely agent attitude NOT SHARES. Do they want to sit on the line with you for 30 mins and do a proper job or just get you quickly off the line.

With United it is possible to do that and not make GS.

HON recognizes people that are in the air more. GS recognizes people that spend more, even if they fly less then 100K a year.

GS is also very subjective. It depends on where you live (IAH is much easier then SFO or DEN), whether they "think" you might buy full-fare flights in the future, etc.

I really hope United changes GS to be a specific target, more like Delta.
At least LH is more clear; I was HON circle for 3 years until I moved back to the US from Germany.

If UA EVER counted my other Star bookings in Biz/First I MAY (may is the key word) be GS. However they only count UA bookings (016 tickets) which HOSES me entirely. Would love it if it moved to DL target and had clear criteria plus criteria built in on percentage of partner higher cabin flights counting. I know 2 GS's who fly nowhere near I do and yet when they fly MORE and MORE domestic they aren't in PAID premium cabins - hosing the rest of us on the upgrade list. They fly 6 intl roundtrips a year and made GS ??? I fly double that 60-70% of the time in Premium cabins on UA metal (sure it's Z or P fares but it's STILL paid premium) and I'm still a 1K - the others i know as GS PAY FARES on par with Z or P (corp agreement) fly less than me.. something isn't right. If UA backed of GS eligible fares from corp agreement fares they would know very quickly who really is high margin and who isn't. If I'm NOT high margin to them on discounted fares then they need to admit that corporate negotiated fares users AREN'T either!!

I wish the GS program was more transparent on goal achieve. I think I've been within range but never known how far off I may have been.

If I ever did move back to Europe I would see myself flying LH more and you dang well right assume I would make HON Circle again as it's clear how to do it.
