The fact is that women in India are frequently NOT treated well. And it can get very unpleasant if you're female.
i agree women in india are not treated as well as many other countries....but once again it doesn't make the country unsafe for women....

my wife once had sexual innuendos passed at her in detroit & just recently on our last trip to phuket she was followed by a number of young men for a few blocks harrasing her & trying to get her to get into their car with them....these incidences are very unpleasant but they happen everywhere....it doesn't make detroit or phuket unsafe....you will always have a small majority of people who give everyone else a bad name....
