Thanks for your review, MorganDK. I search for d'Angleterre on FT from time to time because I have been toying with the idea of staying there since before their recent major reno, but I have yet to try them out. I visit CPH annually and I agree that there is a major lack of appealing hotel choices in the city. Varying shades of mediocrity seems to be the consistent theme with Danish hotels. I took a stroll with my family through the newly refurbished lobby as we walked by the d'Angleteree earlier this week and I was impressed. Beautiful Mandarin Oriental-esq decor and excellent staff. Truly a world of difference from the various hotels where we have stayed during our last few visits. I have been looking forward to staying there, but with rates, according to their Website, of 7,000 to 9,000 DKK per night (approx. $1,200-$1,600 USD), I think I'll continue to make do with the local hotel mediocrity. I wonder if they have any plans of becoming an Amex FHR hotel. That might be enough to compel me to bite the bullet during an upcoming visit.
