If you do this then you transform two business class seats into 3 economy class seats.
This would not happen if i was in business class and seating in this row.
Maybe all three were upgraded, who knows. I had a blocked seat next to me, so I was fine. Don't remember if I was upgraded or if I was on a business ticket though.
