I regularly shower with the 5yo AND 11-month-old at home without any help from dad and it's fine. The baby usually sits where I put her if she has some toys to play with and is fine with the water falling on her head from the "rain" spigot. In slippery tubs, a washcloth under the butt usually works fine. When we're done, I always get out first, put on my towel, and then burrito the kids.
