Thanks for the help so far. Is there any limit on US -> Africa tickets routing through Asia? I had also specced out out award availability for the following:

SFO -> ICN (Seoul) - stopover in Seoul
NRT (Japan) -> KIL - open jaw
KIL -> NRT (or any other major Asian city)
NRT -> SFO

NRT to KIL and back work fine, but it errors out when I try to add SFO -> ICN (or NRT). I swear it worked fine when i was doing searches last night, just has not worked at all today.

Am I missing anything? Are there rules against routing through Asia for Africa? Too many segments for part of the round trip ticket? (the first two sets of flights were 5-6+ segments). Anything else?

One other dumb question regarding calling in to book award tickets. When you call in, do you give them all the flight segments on a award search or can you just give one? For example, I was looking at SFO -> NRT, but there was a stop in ICN (SFO -> ICN -> NRT), so I thought that meant there would be direct flight availability for SFO -> ICN. When I searched SFO -> ICN the only available flights had a stop in NRT. What the heck? If I called in, could I just give them the SFO -> ICN segment and get a direct flight, or do I need to give them all the flights listed on the award ticket?
