OP did not specify dates, but J from RDU is still NGBC, and likely will remain so for awhile.

I don't mind the slant seats, so best option for AA miles is RDU-ORD-PVG, all AA metal. I do like the suggestion to connect through LHR to BA, but I suspect that would be significantly more expensive.
