All or most of this functionality is only available if you have an account with the railroad. Simply go to bahn.de, choose your location and sign up for an account. For those with non-chip/pin credit cards, it will probably no longer be a problem to buy or pick up tickets.
Interesting you say that. I have an account with the DB and have the DB app. I was notified that my train from Berlin to Frankfurt no longer existed. This was emailed to me overnight before my train. ICE 279 certainly did exist but the time was moved 45 minutes earlier. So has today's update fixed that giant hole?
Also, ICE 279 goes to Basel but there was no notification at least in English that the train terminated in Frankfurt and that everyone needed to leave the train and find the platform for its continuation to Basel. The English announcement was that the train was entering Frankfurt and goodbye. If they manage to say that in English, why not alert travelers in English of the information about the train terminating in Frankfurt and the need for them to look for the platform for the continuation of ICE 279?
