My biggest question is why you would use over 46,000 (!) miles for something worth only about $300.


I used the miles for the car because that's what I needed. I don't use them for flights, as I want to accrue miles. This is for a 9-day rental, and is about the number of miles I'd use for 2- 3 nights in a nice hotel, so seemed like more or less the same value. If you have insights into how to get more value from the miles, I'd love to know. Also, any insights on resolving this would be appreciated, too. Thanks!
