As always the usefulness/relevance of the advice/responses is directly related to the accuracy of the information posted. A difference in an exchange rate is very minor (common and irritating for sure) compared to the initial story which was that your credit card was
charged the full room rate in USD at booking and then you were charged more for your room at check-out.
