Think of it as a rare/unexpected/special upgrade and appreciate it for what it was. As a Gold, the typical upgrade will be to the club floor, where the only difference is perhaps a better view (but at least that is something). As a Gold, I have gotten suite upgrades a few times, but they were all at times when it was clear the property was at a very low occupancy (i.e. Shanghai in the days leading up to Chinese New Year when the whole city was clearing out and the property even closed the club lounge due to low occupancy).
