If you see what compensation AY had to pay, if they would compensate after the rules - 500€ is just a joke, if I deduct the 500€ from my paid fare I roughly paid about 450€ for the oneway Y ticket - not a bad deal for AY.

The rule says 75% of ticket price - but funny enough, the rules are not working on company rates. So AY picked me, because it was cheaper to compensate me. Thats how airline business works, if you can save a few $$$, you don t care about your loyal customers.
