You will hit Silver in January. However, as the Skywards tier calculator always looks at the miles accrued in the previous 13 months for the next higher tier qualification, when you accrue the 10,500 in May 2014, you will have met the tier qualification for Gold (21000 + 21000 + 10,500 = 52,500 in the previous 13 months) and the system will upgrade you to Gold.
