It has already been discussed in this thread that DFW-LIM in J in the front is bad due to the ancient seats and compared to most other current service to LIM. Yes, I agree with that. The 757 I was on yesterday was a very old one, the monitors were "tube" monitors in REALLY REALLY bad shape, flickering image, no contrast or brightness, flickering white lines across, etc. Yes, the seats in J were the really old leather brown seats. And the plane looks just OLD.

HOWEVER, I must say that I had a really pleasant 7hrs flight in MCE. Those extra inches really make a big difference. If I compare AA MCE with LAN Y seats, I would take AA's 757 coach any day mainly because of the extra inches. While the LAN planes have a very nice IFE, a wide body and newer planes, their seats in Y feel SO cramped on the 767 that it is just torture to be in those for 6+ hours. I can't even imagine what a torture it must be on their 787's that have the sardine configuration 3-3-3 (16.8 width.) in Y.

By the way, the crew on this DFW-LIM was an all female USA crew. They were actually very good, courteous, on time, etc.

P.S. I am 6 feet tall and stretching my legs and having a wide enough seat are primary concerns for me.
This thread is very useful, as I am debating DEN-LIM via either DFW or MIA. I noted that the DFW-LIM segment has domestic 757 J, and so was thinking of routing via MIA so that I could get 763 J. But a comfortable MCE seat via DFW is also something I would consider. Can I ask: what seat did you sit in, did you have anyone beside you, and did you have anyone recline in front of you?
